Texting While Driving
is
Banned in Massachusetts
Sending or just reading texts or eMails
or surfing the web while driving
is now a primary offense,
meaning police can pull you over.

1st Offense: $100 fine
(+60 day license suspension for drivers under 18)
2nd Offense: $200 fine
(+180 day license suspension for drivers under 18)
3rd Offense: $300 fine
(+year long license suspension for drivers under 18)

Drivers under 18
are also forbidden from using their cell phones at all,
except for 911 emergency calls.
